The SDZ (a system for building in) is aimed first and foremost at existing houses: the typical scenario is replacing worn-out shutters installed during construction with a modern mechanism. The design is intended for fast, non-invasive installation onto the existing surfaces of the recess: plaster, reveals and facade all stay untouched. Architects specify the SDZ in new projects too — precisely because future replacement of the mechanism is provided for in advance.
The system comes in several assembly variants depending on the size of the recess, the set of functions and the fixing method — the configuration is chosen after measuring. The curtain uses foam-filled aluminium profiles PA 39–55 with a two-layer PU/PA coating that resists abrasion and weather, or plastic PT 37/52.
From a classic manual drive to an electric motor with a wall switch or radio remote — and further still, to control from a computer, a tablet or a smartphone in smart home scenarios. The palette holds more than 40 standard colours: greys, whites, blacks, woodgrain finishes in mahogany, walnut and oak, and accents in burgundy, green, yellow, red and blue.
The mechanism takes the place of the old one.
